Privacy Policy

BH Contracting LTD. ("we", "us") operates internal staff tools and customer-facing services for Halifax Regional Municipality contracting operations. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website and applications, including integrations with third-party services such as Intuit QuickBooks Online.

Information we collect

• Account information (name, email, login) for authorized staff
• CRM and job data entered by staff (leads, jobs, contracts, invoices)
• QuickBooks connection tokens when you connect accounting — stored securely on our server, not in public pages
• Technical logs (IP address, browser type) for security and troubleshooting

Website and referral inquiries

When you request a quote on our website, through a referral link, or by scanning one of our signs, door hangers or QR codes, we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, your town or address if you give it, and a description of the work. We also note which page, link or campaign code brought you to us. We use this information to reply about your project, arrange a visit and prepare a quote. A hidden spam check field and, where enabled, a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge help us filter out automated submissions.

Optional marketing consent

Some forms include an optional, unticked checkbox that lets us email or text you about your quote and occasional seasonal offers. We record the exact wording you agreed to and when. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to a message, using the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or writing to info@bhcontracting.ca. We stop marketing messages promptly after you withdraw and keep a record of your request so you are not contacted again.

Calls and text messages

When you call or text our business number, we keep a record of the call or message so we can respond and follow up. Calls may be recorded and transcribed, and you will hear a notice before a voicemail is recorded. Missed calls may receive a text back so we can help you.

Job requests posted publicly

People sometimes post requests for contracting work on public websites and community groups. We may read those public posts and reply to offer a quote. If you would rather not hear from us, reply STOP or tell us, and we will not contact you about it again.

How we use information

We use data to reply to inquiries, operate our CRM, schedule work, generate invoices, and sync accounting with QuickBooks when you authorize that connection. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

We use the following service providers to run the business. They process information on our behalf:

• Twilio — phone calls, voicemail and text messages
• Our email provider — sending and receiving email
• Anthropic and Google — AI tools that summarize and classify messages and public job posts so staff can respond faster
• Intuit QuickBooks Online — accounting, when connected
• Cloudflare — spam protection on web forms, when enabled

When you connect QuickBooks, Intuit's privacy policy applies to data processed by Intuit. See intuit.com/privacy.

How long we keep information

• Public job posts that we did not act on are deleted from our systems within 90 days.
• Inquiry and customer records are kept while they are needed for our relationship with you and for our legal and accounting obligations, or until you ask us to delete them where the law allows.

Access, correction and questions
